Sunday, July 31, 2022
7:00pm – 8:15pm
Rossmoor Event Center, 1001 Golden Rain Road, Walnut Creek, CA
Clarinet Fusion performs a summer concert, titled “Clarinet Festival”, for the residents of Rossmoor and their guests. If you love the sound of the Eb clarinet, Bb clarinet, alto clarinet, bass clarinet, and contrabass clarinet and want to hear these instruments being played up close and personal – you will not want to miss this event! Audience members will enjoy the mix of classical, pop, jazz, rock, Latin, musical theatre, and more.
And – very special this summer – we will be playing the music that we performed on June 30, 2022 at the International Clarinet Association’s annual ClarinetFest convention. You will hear: Mendelssohn’s Sonata No. 6 in D minor, originally written for organ, which when played by clarinets produces much the same sound as a big pipe organ; Look What the Day Brings, an original cool jazz piece; and The Lone Ar-ranger!, built on William Tell’s Overture with 39 snippets of other pieces mixed in and played so fast – see if you can catch them!
Having performed at Rossmoor since 2011, Clarinet Fusion hopes that you and your guests can join us for an eclectic toe-tapping mix of clarinet choir music performed by nine Bay Area musicians on five different kinds of clarinets ranging from 19-inches to 9-feet. We will have various types of clarinets on display for your viewing pleasure and members of Clarinet Fusion will be available after the concert to talk with you and answer any questions you may have about the clarinet. A fun evening will be had by all!
Private event for the residents of Rossmoor and their guests. Free concert. Sponsored by the Rossmoor Recreation Department.
